Prep and after Care

  • Before your appointment, focus on smoothing the skin and finishing any "heavy" beauty treatments. This ensures the tan adheres to a fresh, even surface.

    • Beauty Services: Complete any facials, massages, or eyelash extensions. The oils and steam from these treatments can interfere with tan development if done later.

    • Exfoliate: Use an exfoliating mitt to remove old tan or dead skin.

    • Moisturize: Focus on hydrating your skin deeply now so it’s healthy and ready for the color.

    • Shave or Wax: Do this at least 24 hours in advance to allow pores to close. Shaving too close to your appointment can result in "polka-dot" pores.

    • Mani/Pedi: Get your nails done today! Ensure your nail tech skips any oils or heavy lotions at the end of the service.

    • Skip the Lotion: Do not apply heavy body butters or oils 24 hours before your session, as they can create a barrier.

    • The "Clean Skin" Rule: Arrive with zero lotion, deodorant, perfume, or makeup. These products can react with the tan and cause green or patchy spots.

    • Dress Code: Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing and flip-flops. Leave the leggings, jeans, and bras at home!

  • The first 24 hours are critical for the tan to "set." Treat your skin with care to ensure a long-lasting, even fade.

    • The First Rinse: Use lukewarm water only for your first rinse (no soap/shampoo!). Pat dry gently with a towel—never rub.

    • Hydrate Often: After your first rinse, moisturize twice daily with an oil-free lotion. Hydrated skin holds a tan much longer.

    • What to Avoid: Skip long hot baths, chlorine pools, and heavy sweating for the first 48 hours. Avoid skincare with Retinol, AHAs, or acne medication on tanned areas.
